Thursday December 3, 2026 8:30am - 10:00am PST
Join this community to improve enrollment processes, reach eligible families, streamline applications, address attendance challenges, and support families through strong parent-child relationships and community partnerships.

The ERSEA & Family Services Community of Practice for Head Start staff is a collaborative space dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the enrollment process while strengthening the family support services that help children and families thrive. This community provides a forum for discussing strategies to reach eligible families, streamline the application process, ensure fair and equitable selection criteria, address challenges related to enrollment and attendance, and build strong family partnerships that meet the diverse needs of the families served. By sharing best practices, addressing common issues, and staying informed about relevant policies and regulations, this community can help Head Start staff enhance their enrollment and family engagement efforts and better serve the needs of children and families in their communities.

Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and who interact regularly to learn how to do it better (Wenger, 2006). These communities are intended to provide safe and supportive spaces for participants to share resources and ideas, explore and question their understandings, solve challenges, and form common commitments for action and improvement.
